The whole Management of Lions Finland was represented in our Charter Night.


Lion Hannu Rantanen (second left)was declared Knight of Lions, the highest reward of Lions Finland, for his long lasting and extraordinary active membership in Lions Club Askola.

Our still active Charter member MJF lion Raimo Jokio was honored with
a Life Membership of  the Club.


Club president Timo Kiiskinen, lion Mauri Lindström and lion Anssi Korsström
introduce a new activity by Lions Club Askola in order to sponsor PID Harri Ala-Kulju, candidating
for the 2nd International Vice Presidency of Lions International.
The brand new Huge Gavel shall circulate in the Clubs all over the country from one club to an other raising thereby money for Harri Ala-Kulju´s campaign.
At least three members from each club must visit another club with the Gavel.
The circulation of the Gavel and the amount of money raised can be followed on our finnish web site.

Our motto: "PID Harri Ala-Kulju heading for Oak Brook!"



Last but not least - dancing after the festivities and a wonderful dinner.

Inaugral Festivities of the Playground in Kairaisrinne
Lions Club Askola 50 years.

Lions Club Askola and Arne Ritari Trust have together donated the playground devices and the Pavillion to the Kairaisrinne-park. The children and their parents in Kairaisrinne area
are very fond of their brand new playground.

Sight First


Lion MJF Mauri Lindstrom and his lady Paula have
collected and packed eye glasses over several years.


Over ten thousand glasses from lions clubs all over the country
have already been sent overseas to Sri Lanka via LC Askola.
